Also from my experience – factors like you prior experience and comfort level with the material might influence your choice as to whether to choose a distance option versus traditional classroom instruction. Additonally, I’ve seen many older adult learners choose distance learning for the convenience factor however in some cases they are not comfortable using technology and all of the online tools and end up spending too much time getting comfortable and accustomed to with the online classroom routine and fall behind on the actual course work. My advice is to take an inventory of your strengths with regard to utilizing online tools as well as you comfort with the actual subject matter before making an investment. If possible talk to students who’ve had experience with online/distance education providers. Best of luck to you on your education path!
Distance education, or distance learning, is a field of education that focuses on the pedagogy and andragogy, technology, and instructional systems design that aim to deliver education to students who are not physically "on site".
