| A new option awaits Iowa community college students who hope to transfer to the University of Iowa on or after the 2008 spring semester. The 2 Plus 2 plan is a new university scholarship program that provides academic advising and $1,000 to students from all Iowa community colleges who plan to enroll at the university after completing their associative arts degree in one of at least 12 majors, including business, English and psychology. "We're seeing more and more students who start their academic career at community college because it's less expensive, then decide to transfer to one of the state universities to finish their degree," said Emil Rinderspacher, senior associate director of admissions at the university. |
