Transcript Transfer Question
Hi, I'm new here. I've been thinking about transferring to University of Houston from Galveston College. The thing is, I transferred to the College from Texas Tech after a poor 2nd semester. I was clinically depressed and ended up not going to half my classes, ending up with a bunch of F's. So, my question is this : Can I abstain from transferring anything from Tech at all? I've heard that you must provide transcripts from all institutions attended, but I can't find a site that tells me for sure. And if I must, would the transfer credit GPA not count the failed courses since I didn't actually get credit for them? Thank you all in advance.

Re: Transcript Transfer Question

Dear Dronbomalx,

The most important thing is that you take care of yourself and your mental and emotional well being.  It is admirable that you were able to attend even half your classes.  You will need to submit all your transcripts and you can add an addendum explaining your mental condition in the form of a letter or any supporting evidence. Those classes would probably not be eligible for transfer since there is usually a grade minimum for transfer so you needn't worry about it impacting your GPA.  I would use caution with how much you disclose about your medical history however.  Definitely seek the advice of counselors and advisors from your prior colleges and universities before taking any action!  Best of luck and take care.
