senior year transfer advice

My son is considering transferring from WV to UGa or U of Fla, but he could graduate next year at WV with a good GPA.  He wants to go to grad school and thinks it would be easier to get in the aforementioned colleges if he graduated from them.  Is this sound reasoning?  He would obviously lose credit hours in that the max transfer credit rules apply to either school.  He has not taken the GRE's yet, so my advice was that this would also be a determining factor in acceptance to any grad school, regardless of where you went as an undergraduate.

Could someone give me any advice on the merits or drawbacks of a transfer of a rising senior?  Major at present is Multidiciplinary studies (BA) with the multidiciplines being English, History, and Media Studies.

Thanks in advance for any direction/guidance/general rules.

Re: senior year transfer advice

I would recommend finishing his degree where he is unless there is a reason he is unsatisfied with the level of rigor and he is not learning anything.  Is he challenged?  Is he gaining a good network of friends?  Transfering will add costs, time and added risks.  Don't jump ahead so far in thinking about Graduate school admissions.  He has not finished his undergraduate degree yet.  Thinking ahead and assuming he will fly through to a degree reflects high confidence, but could come back to haunt him.  Grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence either.  Finish the undergraduate degree.  That is my two cents.
